TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR THEATRE
The Brauntex Theatre is a converted movie theatre built in 1942. It was reopened in 2000 as a live performance venue. The
theatre is owned and operated by the Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre Association, Inc., a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization,
dedicated to preserving the building, supplying a source of live entertainment through touring artists and providing a venue
for the many local performing arts groups in Comal County.
Renovations have been made to the stage per attached drawing.
There is no loading dock. No fly system. No grid.
Access to stage is ground level from the rear building loading doors and ramped through the backstage doors (one door on
each upstage left and right of stage). Doors are 47” wide and 78” high.
An additional pre/post show loading door is located upstage left on the rear stage wall. This door is 58” wide and 10’0”tall.
This door is not used for egress of personnel or staff during the show. This sliding door opens to the rear stage hallway and
has direct access to loading doors on the rear of the facility. All clearances from the rear loading area are 10’0” tall.
Dressing room(s) are located directly behind stage. The room is sub-dividable; each having its own ADA uni-sex bathroom.
The dressing room 1 bathroom includes an ADA accessible shower stall. Each side of the main dressing room has a small
kitchenette with sink and refrigerator. There are show in progress audio monitors. Audio includes paging from stage left or
stage right and the front of house audio position.
Wing space is minimal. Stage-left is 8’1” x 20’; stage-right is approximately 2’11” x 25’
Upstage space between CYC and back wall used for stage equipment storage.

LIABILITY INSURANCE:
Insurance Coverage. At all times during the term of the Agreement, RENTER shall, procure and
maintain, at its sole cost and expense, all insurance coverage required by applicable law, and in any event
insurance coverage in the following types and amounts:
(i) Commercial General Liability with limits no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and
$2,000,000 in the aggregate, including bodily injury and property damage and products and completed
operations and advertising liability, which policy will include contractual liability coverage insuring the activities
of RENTER under this Theatre Rental Agreement; and
(ii) Business Property Insurance with limits equal to the replacement cost of RENTER’S
personal business property at the Brauntex.
Policy Terms. All insurance policies required pursuant to this Theatre Rental Agreement shall:
(i) Be issued by insurance companies with AM Best Rating of no less than A-VII;
(ii) Provide that such insurance carriers give BPATA at least thirty (30) days’ prior written
notice of any cancellation or non-renewal of, or material change in, the coverage, scope or amount of such
policy and, prior to any such cancellation, non-renewal or material change in coverage, RENTER shall have new
insurance policies in place that meet the requirements of this Theatre Rental Agreement; and name BPATA,
including, in each case, all successors and permitted assigns, as additional insureds or loss payee.
Certificates of Insurance
Upon BPATA’S written request, RENTER shall provide BPATA with copies
of the certificates of insurance and policy endorsements for all insurance coverage required by this Theatre
Rental Agreement. RENTER shall not do anything to invalidate such insurance. RENTER shall give thirty (30)
days’ prior written notice to BPATA of any cancellation, non-renewal or material change in coverage, scope, or
amount of any insurance policy required by or affecting BPATA’s rights or remedies under this Theatre Rental
Agreement.

Parking Policy for Renters
Patrons or groups renting the Brauntex Theatre are provided six (6) complimentary parking spots for their crew. Any additional vehicles beyond the allotted six must either pay to park in our lot or use available street parking.
The Brauntex Theatre Parking Lot
The Brauntex Parking Lot behind the theatre has a paid parking for a flat rate of $8.65 in our lot from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM. Our lot only has 40 parking spots and 3 ADA spots (located as you enter from San Antonio St.) All spots are first come, first served.
*Please note that we do not offer pre-paid parking reservations for our lot. If you choose to pre-pay for parking, we cannot guarantee an available space, and refunds will not be issued in the event that a parking space is unavailable.

Brauntex Theatre Bag Policy
As of September 1, 2024, the Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre has implemented a new bag policy. The Brauntex only allows clear bags and/or small clutch bags for all ticketed events and this policy is subject to change.

Patrons may bring a clear bag (12′′ x 6′′ x 12′′ maximum size) and/or a solid small clutch bag (5.5′′ x 8.5′′) to the venue:
- A small clutch bag (clear OR solid), approximately the size of a hand, size 5.5” x 8.5” or smaller.
- Any bag larger than 5.5” x 8.5” must be a clear bag and not exceed 12′′ x 6′′ x 12′′. Bags cannot be mesh, iridescent, or tinted.
- Exceptions for medically necessary equipment are allowed after proper inspection by security staff.
- Diapers and other baby supplies can be carried inside a clear bag. Solid diaper bags are NOT allowed.
- All bags are subject to search prior to entry. Patrons who choose not to adhere to the guidelines will not be allowed entry into the theatre and ticket purchases will not be refunded.
- Prohibited bags (not limited to) Purses or bags larger than 12′′ x 6′′ x 12′′ such as briefcases, backpacks, computer/tablet bags, camera/camera bags, fanny packs, luggage, diaper bags and binocular cases are prohibited.

- Laser pointers
- Professional photography equipment and video recording devices (e.g., camcorders, GoPros, or anything beyond a cell phone)

- Illegal drugs or illicit substances, or paraphernalia

- Props or accessories that can be swung and present a hazard to other guests
