The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre Association’s mission is to continually provide excellent cultural and entertainment experiences.

Board Members support the Theatre through mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by the BPATA Executive Director and staff, the Board-CEO relationship is a partnership and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. Specific duties include:

Leadership, governance and oversight

Serving as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director as she/he implements BPATA strategic plan.

Reviewing outcomes and metrics created by the Brauntex Theatre for evaluating its impact, regularly measuring its performance and effectiveness using those metrics.

Approving the annual budget, audit reports and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities.

Serving on one or more committees each year and meeting the responsibilities therein.

Acting as an ambassador for BPATA and upholding its core values in the community.

Fundraising

Board members play a critical role in all areas of fundraising for the theatre and will consider BPATA philanthropic priority and make annual gifts that reflect that priority. So that we can credibly solicit contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals, the BPATA expects 100 percent of Board members to make an annual contribution commensurate with their capacity and to purchase tickets to Brauntex Theatre performances/events.

Board Terms/Participation

Board members serve two (2) four (4) year terms. Members are eligible for re-appointment after one (1) year. Board meetings are held each month and committee meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings.
