Since 1993, Las Nuevas Tamaleras has been delighting audiences and has become as beloved as The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, and It’s a Wonderful Life!

Written and directed by local playwright Alicia Mena, this one-act comedy follows Silvia, Josie, and Patsy as they attempt to make tamales for the very first time. Their efforts are hilariously complicated by the spirits of Doña Mercedes and Doña Juanita—two seasoned tamaleras with very different ideas about what makes the perfect tamal.

With uproarious humor, heartfelt moments, and themes of friendship, family, and tradition, Las Nuevas Tamaleras will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you proud!
